We will be moving the Thursday Nighters on Canyon to Lake Dunlap on April 24th.

The tournaments will be run out of River Bend HOA Park which is across from the 3rd island at mid lake. YOU CAN NOT LAUNCH FROM RIVER BEND PARK. You must launch at either I35 or Schumans and travel by water to River Bend Park and can dock/beach there. Once you find the big Academy tent located near the water, you have found the registration and weigh in. You cant miss it. River Bend offers a very well lit area with plenty of boat docking and beaching, and allows us to release the boats sequentially and safely at mid lake with some teams running up lake and others down.

Everything remains the same. We are still guaranteeing $3500 at championship, Angler of the Year will still receive TTZ entries for 2015, Angler Profiles will transfer over and we still will give out the complimentary Bud Light and Michelob Ultra at the weigh ins. The only thing changing is the body of water and the size of the fish brought to the scales.

Registration will start at 6:00pm at Riverbend Park.
Tournament hours are 6:30pm - 10:00pm

We ask all anglers to use extreme caution and watch their speed, especially after dark. We know some of you have fast boats, and you will not be warned to watch your speed a 3rd time...you just wont be allowed to participate.

We've been asked many many times to run another weeknight or Saturday series on Dunlap the same way we run them on Canyon, or move the Canyon tourneys to Dunlap.

We were reluctant to move them because many have mentioned that the venue and setup at the Canyon tourneys were the best anyone had seen for a weeknight tournament. The only problem is, the fishing is tough (2 pounds and change could get you a check) and most of the anglers were driving right over Dunlap on their way out to Canyon.

It really doesn't need mentioning but Dunlap is one of the best lakes in the state and it fishes incredible in the late evening and night. I don't know why it can be so tough during the day.

This one is going to have a lot of bragging rights. I am very interested to see who wins the Angler of the Year.

Way to go Shawn! I think it's a great move and will attract many more teams hopefully.

We've added more guaranteed money at the end of the year Championship which now will be over $3500, and have added incentives for anglers to win extra money each week.

We'll be rolling out those details soon.

I live 2 miles from Lake Austin, which is probably the hottest lake in the country right now, and will gladly make the 100 mile round trip to fish Dunlap both Thursday and Saturday nights every week. Hopefully I can talk a few Austin guys to come down and donate with me at some of these Thursday Nighters.

You guys in San Marcos and New Braunfels are lucky to have that little gem of a lake in your backyard and right off the highway. And be thankful there is a lot of recreational boat traffic on Dunlap, I think the ski boats actually help keep a lot of the fishing pressure off that lake.

Shawn and Brad run a great tournament and all the guys I have met on Canyon have been very friendly, definitely looking forward to the Dunlap move!

You beat me to it I was gonna put something together out there since I cant seem to catch fish anymore.. I'll be fishing them more now that its a lil closer to home.

I don't know if I'll make it this week yet or not, but definitely plan on making it happen next week and every week thereafter.

I know you guys will have great success out there, I know I have enjoyed the last few weeks at canyon for sure, y'all are good guys running the events and a great guys who fish it. I bet we will see a lot a big fish weighed in for sure, it is such a fun little lake to fish. I hope folks who put on events don't forget about canyon all together, it can be a grind at times but it's a part of the challenge I enjoy, that's just me. I know you guys will have good success there and I truly wish you guys nothing but the best.

The first Thursday Nighter (April 24th) on Dunlap will be run out of the I35 launch.

River Bend Park is not yet ready. We hope the park will be ready next week.
