My question is, I am removing tilt/trim motor for 1984 Evinrude 140 hp V4. The connectors at the end of the wiring will not go under the motor. Do the connectors come off? If so how is the best way to take them off. Thanks for any replys and help. I have never owned an outboard and these are new to me. Just don't want to mess up.

Or if someone does mobile repair let me know. I don't mind going that route.

At the end of the wiring harness are 2 connectors with 2 wires in each. I am trying to get the wires out of the motor. The wires go under the motor and then come up to the box with the relays in it. The connectors will not fit under the motor so I a pretty sure they come off. I am not sure how. I just don't want to damage the connectors. Thanks.

Follow the larger blue and green trim motor wires from the relay box and you should find a plug connector for the trim motor wires. One set is for the motor and the other set is for the trim sender.

the metal piece is pushed out with a special tool that evinrude had. they have to be pushed out and not pulled out depends on what end but find something to fit in the metal socket or something to go around the pin and push out.
