I just got off the water at 10am and I was able to catch a few small reds and two sheepshead. My first fish from my new kayak.

Not sure if the trout are in the shallows just yet. I was fishing the Churchill bayou in Christmas bay.

Hey man I am going down the weekend of the 2nd. Curious where you launched. I'll be taking my kayaks and hope to find some smooth water like what your in but I have no clue where to begin.

Meant to quote hubbs.

I was fishing the eastern side of Christmas Bay. There are several marsh pockets, grass and some shell. I launched at what is commonly called Ernies Tool Bait Shop (which no longer exists). Follow Hwy288 south thru Lake Jackson. Exit for Surf Side and stay on Hwy 332 until you cross over the ICW. Turn left (east) on the Blue Water Hwy. Drive about 10 miles to Amigo Lane (257S). Launch there and paddle east into Churchill bayou.

Good luck

You talkin' yellow mouth or white mouth ?

... been catching both ...

In the event you've been reading my reports, then you should know - winter rains have filled our back lakes, barrier island lakes and inland marshes,.. even 1/2 way to Sinton from Bayside and all points in between there and the GOM .. dude it's on for the first time in 5 years - back bay's to the Traylor Island gauntlet and it's awesome !!!

woot
