Thanks for posting a nice fish Stew. Your up for a discount on your next purchase just let me know. Here is a write-up on those two Spinner Baits.
HANK PARKER CLASSIC SPINNER BAIT: $15We catch 100 Bass in Mexico everyday. This bait will out catch any other spinner bait 2 to 1. I fish mine and catch 100; you fish yours and catch 50. It is my go to bait for heavy cover like lay downs, logs, floating trash, bushes, grass and general areas that no one else will go.
This is my go to bait under normal conditions of shallow water fishing.
- It has a twisted line tie.
- Change out main blade to a Copper Willow leaf #4.5.
- Sand the head and paint Chrome/Flake.
- Skirt is Blue/Chartreuse/White with 8 strands of fine Mylar. They are Round Living Rubber skirts impregnated with my pure 100% Minnow oil. These are poured with minnow powder and marinated in my oil for 1 year before going on the spinner bait.
- Skirt is hand tied so it never comes off. You will never find it lying in the bottom of the box.
- It is armed with a white glitter Stanley Pro trailer which is no longer made.
Three Kentucky Lake Opens Back To Back:I pulled off three consecutive wins out of New Johnsonville, TN., in 1974, 75 and 76. All three tournaments were won in an area that no other boats would go. An old railroad trestle with two blown out bridges with two good creeks leading into a huge basin put me in an area of buck ball bushes and lay downs for the whole day.
I threw the Hank Parker Prototype back then, acquired form a family friend that was putting the baits in the hands of the best fisherman around. After winning on this new bait, I purchased 200 of them as soon as they hit the market. I have a few remaining and these are the ones you will get while the supply last.
HALLOWEEN SPINNER BAIT: $15The Head is a special molded head to hold a 3 mm. prism eye.
It has 2 Skirt keepers, one for skirt and one for the trailer.
The Skirt is Living Rubber in three colors and hand tied. Minnow Scent has been molded into the rubber pour, and then saturated with my minnow scent for 1 year before use on spinner bait.
The Blade is a #5 Orange Indiana. It has a top coat of clear coat with a light Dusting of Diamond Dust. This glitter needs to be exact. I mix 5 different glitter dusts together: Silver Hologram, Purple Hologram, Gold Hologram, Chartreuse Hologram and Black.
It is armed with a Stanley Pro Trailer; Tomato/Blue Flake and comes with a trailer hook.
Lots of Thunder and No Lighting: Light showers set in all morning on Ky. Lake. It is 1975 and I have made it to the Red Man Classic. It was held in July that year because back then they ran two circuits a spring and fall. We launched at Paris Landing State Park and I ran to the back of Slaughters Resort Cove to fish a small creek where the beavers had laid almost all the trees in the water. I was working a regular Stanley Spinner Bait because it seemed that the worst of the storm had passed. I had picked up a limit of small 2 to 3 lb. Bass on the tree tops when another group of clouds, thunder and rain moved in.
Along the West shore there was some old boat houses that I thought would make good cover so I headed in that direction. It was too shallow for the big motor so I was giving the trolling motor all it would do against the wind. It was so shallow I had to hold the trolling motor up out of the water with the rope to get across the flat. Crossing the flat I could see two lay downs ahead of me. These are in less than a foot of water in July and the only two pieces of wood on the whole flat had wash up there during high water in the spring. When I got within casting distance I just let the motor down in the mud and picked up the Halloween Spinner Bait. There were two Bass there one on each lay down. The first Bass weighted 10.2 lbs. and the second one weighed 8 even. Total weight for that win was 10 fish for 36 lbs. and change. I love this spinner bait.
