That is absolutely amazing. Good luck Dr. Schwarz, you could be pioneering something that could change bass fishing. I don't know what else to say. It just sounds amazing and I hope you surpass your expectations. I know we'll all be paying attention. Hope you can continue to post updates periodically. We'll be looking forward to them.

Thanks Tim, and I will. Speaking of updates, let me give you this teaser. I have been working for a year setting the ranch up for a Longhorn/Aggie rematch. Competitors included Colt McCoy and Jordan Shipley for team Longhorn, and Steven McGee and Ryan Swope for team Aggie. Rounding out the teams were myself and Colt's pastor, Matt Carter of Austin Stone Church. It included competition with bow hunting, 3d archery, quail shooting, a football game that I had to build a Field of Dreams for, and finally, bass fishing. There were four categories for the fishing to win: biggest bass, top 5 bass, most fish, and total weight per boat. You will have to wait for the show to see who won the overall match, but I can tell you that we shot the show on the same weekend that the Bassmaster Classic was filming, and both boats beat the all time Classic record for the biggest fish caught (12:4 and a 12:2), as well as the heaviest 5 fish caught in one day. What is remarkable is that we did it in only 5 hours of afternoon fishing only, and with 6 rookies, compared with over 30 years of Classics fished by the best bass fishermen in the world fishing most of the day on the best lakes in the country. Two of the competitors for the Aggies had rarely even bass fished, and they won biggest fish and the top 5 weight at over 35 lbs. (sap suckers)! You might guess I was on team Longhorn. We won most fish (75) and total weight. That weekend and the results are what proved to me it was time to bring this story and opportunity to the public. The show will air next year on Tecomate Whitetail Nation. Hope you enjoy it.

Hey Gary, Fantastic endeavor. We do a dental mission across the border there once a year (I'm a Baylor Boy too) and I can't think of a pit stop I'd rather make. Glad you're on the forum. Please keep us updated as to your progress. Jackson

I had the pleasure of visiting the La Perla ranch a couple years ago while on a trip to Falcon. Fished the lake for a few hours and caught some nice fish. Nothing big but Gary was just getting it going really well. I was very intrigued by the Langostinos and Gary's entire hatchery system. Is he still messing with the big redfish, too? He has another lake called "Waterworld" which was his first lake project on La Perla Ranch. It's about 20-25 acres. That may be the one you fished. It still has some big redfish in it but not many. Has tons of hybrid stripers most of which are 5-10 lb. Everyone who has fished Waterworld lately has caught at least a few largemouth over 5. It has a good amount of bass in the 8-11 lb range but La Perla Lake which is a good bit younger is quickly passing it by.
