For those that are interested, here is an article on a variant of the San Juan Worm Ball - COAF San Juan Worm Ball. Main difference is the Gold Bead to give it more weight, else it is the same pattern.

Managed to hook and lose two Catfish Saturday afternoon that went for it. Luckily, was able to get one to stay on the hook and land it; it went about 18". Yesterday's Video.

Great time at TRWD Flyfest; still working the video. May take a little. Here is a quick update and pics! Great way to close the stocking season limiting out on Trout (15"-16" but did lose bigger one!) Today's Pictures. One of the key fishing flies today was the San Juan Worm Ball!

Finished editing the video from Saturday. After a number of missed strikes and break offs using the tandem rigged San Juan Worm Ball and trailing nymph, was able to land only one before running out of the pattern. Remainder were caught using a variant of the Near Deere or the Near Deere. Saturday's Video.
