Slowly but surely moving forward. Now we're at the point where things are going back on the boat. The end is in sight. Started the carpet this week and hope to have it done next week. Got the rear deck finished yesterday. Waiting on the rest of the foam pad for the front deck but in the meantime we'll get all the carpet for the lids cut out and finish the carpet on the floor.

Trailer will get a light sanding and then a new finish. Not sure if we'll stick with the factory blue or go to a bed liner type product for a different look. Also plan to replace the winch and maybe a new jack. We noticed that the rollers are getting a little ragged so they'll be replaced too. We just rewired everything so that's all good.
Going to reinforce the fenders with some bracing so their more sturdy. One of them lost the support between the tires. Not sure when that happened. And we'll probably replace the carpet pads on the fenders with either non skid material or tread plate. Fenders will get the same finish as the trailer. We blew a tire last year and tore up one of the fenders. I re-glassed everything but never got around to painting.
New wheels would be nice but I don't think the budget can stand that kind of hit right now. We'll see.

I've done quite a bit of this stuff over the years.

It is VERY rewarding. You're going to be amazed at how great it turns out.

Good Luck!

Here are a few from yesterday. Back deck is 95% done just have to add the hinges, the gel coat is all done but probably going to add a few coats of wax to her, carpet is down on the floor just have to finish the edges and trim strips around it. Starting the front deck today and waiting on the rest of the pad to finish the deck. After that it's just putting all the little parts back on the boat. Then it will be off to the trailer and painting the engine.

Decided I would put a list together of everything we have done to this boat and doing to it:

Transom
Lower Unit
Powerhead
New Basscat Dash
Hot Foot
Blinker Style Trim
Trim Motor
Trolling Motor
Depth Finders
Side Scan
Hamby's
Hydrowave
L.E.D. lights (blue on the deck and white in all the compartments)
L.E.D. Navigation Lights
Fiberglass Panels (Passenger Console and Bow)
Fiberglass Recess for the trolling motor
Seats
Steering
Carpet
Deck Padding
Perko Locks
Wind Shields
Decals
Rub Rail
Complete Wet Sanding
Rod Locker Organizer

And for the trailer:

Trailer Lights
Trailer Paint
Winch
Fenders
Bunks
Wheels (later this year)

This is all I can think of right now, but I am sure that I'm missing a few things. This is also just the main stuff not including all the little things over the years. Boat is in great shape and my dad and I have had a lot of great memories in her and will for a long time forward. Some may say it is a waste to do all that work over the years but it has been worth it to see how she is looking now. Can't wait to have her all put back together.

Okay probably rude to ask but I'm about to do an overhaul to my boat! Not doing all that u are doing but somethings I'm doing differently! What is the ball park figure u will spend at the end of this project? That cat is gorgeous now and ur doing an awesome job!

Not rude at all. We'll probably have right around $1000 in it when we're done. Biggest expenses were the carpet. 24oz basscat at around $250. The foam pad for the front from the consoles to the bow around $150. Adhesives were about $120. You have to have a special one we got from Bird Song for the foam and weldwood contact cement for the carpet. Lots of sandpaper. New rub rail at $250. Wool and foam pads for the variable speed polisher. McQuires ultimate compound and polish and Protec Nu Paint and Sealer...$60.
The rest will be on the trailer which is mostly the bed liner spray.
All in all not too bad and way less expensive than a new boat. We're anxious to see her all put back together. Next is rewiring/ lighting all the storage compartments. We'll know we're done when the rub rail goes back on. That's the last thing on the list for the boat. Trailer will follow.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.
