I noticed the lake by Haggers on Luna Road, was down alot the other day, so I drove down to the Dam at California Crossing and Northwest Highway in Irving.

They are doing work on the Dam. The park is closed, but I parked nearby and walked over. I spoke to a foreman, and he said it will be 3 weeks or so until they are done.

He said they pulled tons of trash out below the dam, appliances , dozens of cars etc. No wonder we got hung up all the time down there.

He also said they were putting in a boat dock above and below the dam. So should be an easy portage now, as you stil don't want to try and run the dam.

Here is a pic I quickly took before they saw me. Looks like the bottom is going to be nice and cleaned up. He said they were not going to mess with the bottom much, other than to take out any dirt they put in for the dirt bridge.

Nice, the city should install some cameras to catch those car thieves.

I fish the lake behind the Haggar building sometimes as well. I have caught my PB Blue Catfish and Channel Catfish there. Thanks for sharing.

Kinda cool. Google Maps image of the spot right now, you can see some of the old cars they had to drag out.

Cool Google pic. Right now they are done working on the DAM, so water is back to normal heights and flowing over the DAM. They have removed the bypass. There was tons of shad a few weeks back.

They have now put in a ramp above and below the dam.

I have not been back in a month, so not sure if they have finished the clean up and opened the park yet.
