Pretty much all it would be. Wanting to buy a house, but going to wait until wife finishes school to see exactly what area she gets a job in. She will drive back to Stephenville 3 days a week for class, so that is why we are looking west side.

Makes sense. It's not the best area but seems to fit what you are looking for.

The Irish Travellers weren't all that bad when they were confined to the trailer park on Cherry Ln., but they have started buying houses in some of the WS neighborhoods. They are a nightmare as neighbors - the kids are disrespectful, steal anything that isn't tied down, and run thru the neighborhood at all hrs of the night. The parents are rude as hell and stop in the middle of the street and talk for 15-20 min at a time if they pass another Traveller. Honk all you want - they ain't moving until they get good and ready.

Here's a great article from Ft. Worth magazine on the White Settlement Irish Travellers. If you're not familiar with this group it is a very informative piece.

We have had a couple around here but they were into paving parking lots and re-striping them.

Like offer to do a job and you pay them and they don't show up.

That's a stereotype. Most of them are honest hard working people.

No they aren't at all. They are thieves.

Btw, if you have kids, w/s has an excellent school district. We are fortunate as my son has autism and they have a very good special needs program.

Yes. Yes they are. Even those Travellers with a (seemingly) legitimate business use it as a front to run their various scams.

I'd move there just so I could tell people "I live in the White Settlement Area" and watch the look on their face. banana

I was born and raised in west Fort Worth and lived there most of my life.

Never once heard of these Irish Travellers.
