The "trial" of Ethan Couch started yesterday. Couch killed 4 people about 6 months ago while driving drunk. One of those people was a very good friend of mine. While I am still grieving over the loss of my friend, I can't help but to be filled with compassion for this 16 year old boy. He is facing 20 years in prison. There will be no winners in this courtroom.

Being filled with compassion is a good thing. Forgiveness is part of moving through the grief process. Very sorry for the loss of your friend, but happy to hear what's in your heart.

Sad deal.

Sounded like the boy has no compassion from the news report I just watched. Previous alcohol conviction.

Some kids need tough love. Sounds like he is one of them.

Fouz, that's just today. I have spent a great deal of time being angry, wanting retribution. I saw him for the first time last night on the news. He's so young. I have a 16-year-old. I couldn't imagine him being locked up--regardless of what he may have done. But my friend, BJ, had 3 kids that lost a father, and a wife who lost a husband. That doesn't even take into account the other families. I'm just glad that I don't have to make this decision. So much pain.

I would want to talk to that kids daddy and let him know that the blood of those people is on HIS hands.
