The story is about Highland Park but explains the change too

all they did was reclassify 6 man football to 1A

call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

Not really, It also will send the bigger 3A schools back to 4A where they belong. You won't have a HS in 3A with 1000 students paired with HS in 3A who have 400 students. Same goes for 5A with schools who have a 2500 student enrollment and HS with 5000 students.

Yes, it is not like they opened a new classification at all. They just dropped the bottom classification and bumped the others up. To me it is like rearranging deck chairs on a sinking ship.

The vast number of students in the student bodies in the new 5A and 6A is still huge. I think 5A starts at 1060 and goes up to 2099. That means there are going to be school competing against each other that could have almost double the student body.

I am thoroughly unimpressed and it is much ado about nothing.

I do not see it helping either, small schools are still going to be with schools with twice the enrollment.
The big difference will be travel. In the metrmess not so much, but some areas will be putting up the frequent miles

They just added a number. Nothing really changed. The numbers went up by about 20. Baseball an softball will now have no 1a. It will be 2-6a. Absolutely stupid.

6 man has been in 1A for sometime now and will continue to be 1A as I read it.

Exactly. They will now be 1a without 11
Man being 1a. 11 man 1a is now 2a etc.

4A and 5A not much change. A few big 4As - HP, Amarillo, maybe Mansfield Legacy - will hop up a class, but does a 2100 school deserve to be playing a 7500 school. Not impressed.

Very few changes will be made. Everyone just has a different number now.
