Sorry for the last minute post but our plans to hit Texoma this morning did not happen so I am seriously thinking of going Texoma this afternoon.

Had a BLAST this evening! However, unlike Saturday morning, I was not marking huge school of stripers. Henry did came across a nice size school.

We had to work hard for them tonight but we were still able to land some QUALITY fish.

Henry's son beat every single one with the biggest fish of the night at 30". This young man reel his striper in all by himself while Henry took a video of the entire fight. ALL CAUGHT ON TAPE! Congrats on your big fish!



Henry caught a pair of nice size stripers. Can't remember the exact size, it was 29"? He will post pics when he get a chance.

Roger caught a few stripers and lost a monster beside his yak when she made one last run the hook came off.

I caught 3 stripers and a LMB. Did not measure had the chance to measure the big fish since she was out of the water for a while and both the yaks with the hawg trough was quite a ways from me. So I took a pic and release her. I am guessing she was pushing 26-27". Did not took pic of last striper since it was dark but she was pushing 24" easy.



As usual it was always a pleasure fishing with Roger, Henry and his son. Thanks for coming out!

BTW, if you guys are not catching nice size stripers by the cut. Try different lures or techniques! THE STRIPERS ARE THERE, you just got to find them!!

Dang looks like the spot and lures were still working yesterday. I just got of the phone with HB looks like it'll be a week at least before I have a fuctioning ff. Not a good weekend this weekend I also got in a wreck on the way home from the lake Saturday. But on a postive note I did have fun out there with you guys Saturday and my truck is still driveable. So once I get my ff back I'll try to catch up with you guys on your next trip.

WTG you guys! What happen to me and lee that morning was a big tease... Couldn't make it out there due to some issue we had to miss the morning bite at least you got your fix lee I'm still bummed out:/

Great trip guys - always enjoy fishing with Henry, his family and Lee. No doubt the highlight of the trip was Henry's son and his big fish. I was laughing the whole time he was hooked up and let me say that he played it like a pro. Brandon is now officially a Kayak Fisherman - this is the way the addiction gets started and that's a good thing!

Lee when you say "the cut" you mean North Island?

Those are some nice looking fish. Henry if you get a chance post up the video of your son.

Here is the map again.



From highport, head NE for 1.5 miles you will hit the cut. Usually I would try out the "shallow land" or what I call now the "Stump field". The stump field is across the southern tip of the North island. Be warn, it is VERY VERY shallow(less than 1.5 ft) and as the name imply, it is full of stumps. I already bent my mast once.

Try casting around/into the stumps and I would like to stress I have hooked a BIG striper in the stump field on EVERY outing BUT they always manage to break off UNTIL yesterday. I pulled 2 stripers from the stump field yesterday evening, oh and a LMB.

If you have no hits within 20-30 minutes, head towards the cut which is a deep channel that divides the North island. Start working every single inch of the bank OR better yet if you have SI start scanning for the school of stripers.

BTW, there are THOUSANDS of birds right now and on and off you will see the stripers schooling and the birds working. I know it is VERY TEMPTING to chase the birds but IMHO, they will be mostly box fish.

The question is, are you going for quantity or quality?
