Ate at Jakes today in Dallas. The food was still good. However, a simple burger (no cheese), fries, and medium drink was $9.50. Weren't a lot of customers for a noon time. Think they are pricing themselves out of the market. I won't go back unless some one else is paying.

Unfortunately, that seems to be the going rate for burgers these days. Every burger place (non-fast food) I've gone to in the last few months has run about $10-$12 bucks for a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink.

$9.50 is pretty reasonable for a non-fastfood burger these days. With the cost these days of raw material, labor, and rent, I am surprised they can sell it for that price and make much money.

Might want to stick with the dollar menu.

Come to Graham, check out Thriftway. They have great burgers. You get cheese burger and fries for $4.58. Best in our area.

It's hard for me to pay that much too, unless it's a nicer place.

Too many good burgers around for $5.

If you ever are around Lake o the Pines/Marshall area try Fuglers. It's on Hwy 154 in the middle of no where.

Where is Thriftway? Do they cook on Sundays? I would like to try them on the way home from the deer lease.

Ringer, Thriftway is right across the street from the Alsup's at 380 & 16. Only problem is the kitchen is only open Monday thru Friday.

Come to Justin and eat at Mom's Cafe on 5th street across from the Post Office. Lunch special hamburger-cheese burger is $6.25-$6.75 which includes fries and a drink.

Hand made patties that are at least 1/2 lb.

If your ever in round rock stop by The Little Red Wagon off 79. The everyday special is a burger, fries, and drink for $4.95 ( at least it was the last time I was there ). Delicious food!

There's a store/restraunt/gas station in Study Butte at the west entrance to Big Bend National Park that hands down makes the best burger I have ever had. I especially like their chili cheese burger.

At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

I was in Dallas here a while back and stopped to get a burger at Chip's after leaving the new Fishin' World and they have gone way up too. Great burger but not sure any of them are worth $10+.

It still is. Best burgers in Round Rock. Don't forget to get some Round Rock donuts.
