Is anyone on TFF a member of this?
If so, let me know the good and bad.

My brother is a member and he absolutely loves it. I have fished some the lakes with him as a guest and let me tel you, they will spoil you beyond belief. It makes it hard to go to a big lake after fishing one of those ponds. Some have cabins so you can get away for the weekend and hunt for those trophy bass.

I sold my boat and all my gear when my daughter was born. That's been nearly 5 years now. I've slowly acquired some gear and now have a 10 ft boat and trailer. As soon as it cools down I plan to sign up the family. I highly suspect my days on public lakes will be behind me. I check their website daily for reports and looking at lakes.
I was a member some years back. I enjoyed it a lot but got too involved in regular lakes and didn't renew after the first year. My priorities have definitely changed.

I looked into it when I had my Jon boat. I could not justify the cost.

I looked into it when I had my Jon boat. I could not justify the cost. This isn't directed at you, so don't take offense. It's simply my thoughts on this subject as it comes up each time this club is mentioned. Many of these lakes already have a boat on the property. You literally only need a 12v battery and a small trolling motor to take with you. With that and your tackle you're fishing. I decided to buy my own small boat but I quickly realized I no longer need a full sized truck. I no longer have a gas bill for the boat. When I ran my I class it was a c-note every time I went fishing as I usually headed to Fork or somewhere at least an hour away. The savings on gas alone covers the club expense. The price on being the only person on the lake and not seeing or hearing another person the entire time I'm fishing is priceless at this point. I've decided I'm done with the egos and getting cut off on public lakes. It's only getting worse and the subject comes up here all the time. I'm willing to pay for that and their dues and day rates seem like a small price to pay. Just my .02 cents. www.privatewaterfishing.com

Just checked out their website, one time initiation fee is 200, annual fee 285. At first I thought not to bad but then read there was still a daily fee 55-100 for a full day per person and 35-100 for half a day.

I am a member and I will tell you that it is a bargain. I have only fished about 7 or 8 of the lakes int he club cuz I wanted to go only to the ones where I could launch my Legend but they are gorgeous lakes and full of bass. I would highly recommend it.

In addition to 5 star fishing, just having the honor of getting to play at someone else's multi-million dollar haven is well worth the price. I have gotten to enjoy many amazing places I never would have seen without the club.

Thanks for the input. I'm joining but wanted to see if there was something that I have missed.

At first I thought not to bad but then read there was still a daily fee 55-100 for a full day per person and 35-100 for half a day. I have done the math every which way and fishing with them is much cheaper than the cost of owning (formerly owned) my 18 foot Skeeter. I spend just about $1000 a year and fish with them about a dozen times a year. I think the perception is that it can be expensive, but if you really do the math it is not only cheaper its much cheaper. In fact, it is not really close. It use to cost me about $4000/$5000 a year in boat insurance, upgraded electronics, trolling motor maintenance, storage, and boat depreciation etc... I now own a 10 foot bass buster ($1000) and love the fact I don't have to hassle with a big boat. There is no question that it is much cheaper to do this than own a big boat on public waters. I think most guys don't really understand what it really costs them to own and operate a boat. If they put a pen and paper to it, it is a no brainer. I still fish public water from time to time, but I often leave the lake, thinking why didnt I fish one of my private ponds. As a general rule I catch more fish and bigger fish, fishing my private lakes and the cost argument is really a silly argument if you really know what it costs you to own and operate a big boat. To me the real argument is not cost but really rather you enjoy the relaxation of fishing on private lakes in smaller boats or fishing bigger boats with lots of people on public lakes. I made up my mind a few years ago and glad I did.

Thanks for the input. I'm joining but wanted to see if there was something that I have missed. And I have yet to have a jet skier fly by me on one of Private Waters' lakes! Nor have I ever had another fisherman try to crowd in on a spot I'm on!

Steve is good people. He knows what he is doing and how to manage fisheries.
His prices are dirt cheap when compared to any other option. If you like fishing private waters, want to catch a bunch of bass and some giants, Private Water Fishing is for you. Plus, no crowds, ever!
I have several good friends who are members and have been for many years, including trippbo, above. They all feel like they're getting a steal with Steve's set-up.
