Hi Fellow Anglers,
I am no expert on this issue. I've notice my trailer tire has a bad outer wear. I just bought the boat and trailer this February. It's a 2013 model. How could I have this issue since it's brand new? What possibly could have caused my tire to wear out like this? I only took the boat out 9 times this year. I have jacked up my trailer and checked the tightness of the wheel. It doesn't appear the tire is angle inward or anything unusual. Any tips or suggestions would greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Check the tire pressure but I bet the main problem is the fact that you can't hardly find a decent trailer tire anymore!!!!

The axle is just out of alignment, unless you have hit something and bounced the boat and bent it.
Take it to the trailer place and they can align it properly. If you have just one bad tire the the rim is bad. Make the dealer trade it out.

So is the trailer under 1 year manufacturer? I'm going to call BassPro off I35W which is where I've bought it. Thank you all for the help.

pack your boat so's to increase the tongue weight, which will help curb excessive trailer swaying, swinging, oscillating.
but probably this isn't your biggest problem, cause if it was, you'd know it.
Last edited by StePraDal; 07/29/13 01:43 PM. Reason: to add "swaying, swinging, oscillating" cause chicks totally dig swaying.... swinging.... and oscillating.....
The ONLY reason to fish with a fly rod in Texas is to throw a POPPER, casting any other type fly just means you're doing something.

Same axle - other side, what's the wear on that tire?
If you have some abnormal wear on that tire, I would think that it points at an axle issue.
If there is no abnormal wear on that tire, I would think that it's more of an isolated issue (hub, tire, or wheel).
Also, double check your springs. Look them over good.

Definitely take it back to dealer. If wear is on inside and outside treads then it is just PSI. Air those tires up to the max. As others have said check the springs. Make sure the leaf bolt is seated properly on top of he axle, check torgue on u-bolts 1/2" are 50 - 70 lbs, not sure on other sizes but you can search u-bolt torque specs, measure from he axle to the rear x-member and the cener one if you can. Go the dealer with what you found and make them replace the tires.

Just contacted BassPro and they said I need to call their service manager, Mike on Wednesday since he's off on Tuesday to bring it in to have it checked out. Thanks for all your help.

Not trying to steal thread, but does anyone know where one could get an alignment on a trailer south of town in say waxahachie, ennis, midolothian, etc?

In 2004 I got a new Pro 185 same issue. Replaced the axle and the problem was fixed.
