I have seen post in the past for someone locally that has great deals on Depth Finders. I am in the market for a 1197 or HDS 10. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jeff

The only place to shop for electronicsa and trolling motors is from David at Shut up and fish. Personal involvement in all transactions, great follow-up.

Might be careful with those.... there is a small sticker on the box that says "re-conditioned" may very well be ok, im not sure what all is reconditioned

Thanks for all of the input. I chose the 1198 and got a smoking deal, also a very nice guy. I hope it don't take a whole season to figure this thing out.

Gotta give David props! He got me a heck of a deal on my ipilot and has always given the best price around. I'd go with the Humminbird because I really believe it is a great unit and is a lot more user friendly. If you are really good on electronics I think the HDS10 does paint a little more clean of a picture on side scans, but the Humminbird is almost as clean and has much better sonar and GPS in my opinion. I'm not that smart, so take that with a grain of salt, lol....
