I am not picking a "side" either way. Some people only like to fish on a particular lake or two, and some like to fish around on a few different lakes. I don't think either is right, or either is wrong. People just like different things.

If jack potters are a concern then Bass Champs is not for you. Bass Champs North 2013 Top 3 from each event and how many of 5 events they fished. Tawakoni and Cedar Creek had the most jackpotters, but 10 out of 15 Top 3's fished more than one event, 9 out of 15 fished the entire series including 3 winners. Lake Fork --- 1 RANDY HURT ATOKA , OK JEFF CULBREATH *fished all 5! 2 MARK BIONDI SR BURLESON , TX BILLY BIONDI *fished all 5! 3 TRAVIS COPELAND SR GRAND SALINE , TX FRANK POLLEY *fished first 2. Lake Ray Roberts #1 --- 1 JERRY DAVID II PILOT POINT , TX JON JOHNSON PILOT POINT , TX *fished all 5! 2 CHRIS NUNNELEE LANTANA , TX PAUL BOSCO COPPER CANYON , TX *just fished this one. 3 TERRY JOHNSON COPPELL , TX BILL GAMMONS *fished all 5! Lake Tawakoni --- 1 CARL TODD JR QUINLAN , TX JASON TODD *just fished this one. 2 GERALD BARBOUR EAST TAWAKONI , TX MATT HITT *fished all 5! 3 DOUG WHITLEY QUINLAN , TX BRYAN HARRISON QUINLAN , TX *just fished this one. Lake Ray Roberts #2 --- 1 LEE LIVESAY GLADEWATER , TX CHAD BAILEY HASTINGS , OK *fished all 5! 2 ZACH PARKER DENTON , TX HEATH MOODY GRAPEVINE , TX *fished all 5! 3 KEVIN DRITSCHLER PROSPER , TX TIM BROCKWAY KAUFMAN , TX *fished all 5! Cedar Creek --- 1 STRIDER BROWNING GUN BARREL CITY , TX JEREMY ZMOLIK KEMP , TX *just fished this one. 2 SKEETER FOWLER GRAND SALINE , TX DUSTIN HOBBS *fished all 5! 3 JAMES HISER KEMP , TX BRUCE SPRINGS *just fished this one. So 40% (only tourney they entered) 2 out 5 won the grand prize. Are you trying to prove my point our yours. By the way I'm not a hater I fished all five and donated to them all.

Neither, just posting actual facts instead of assumptions and emotions. Just trying to learn, appears there are jackpotters in Bass Champs, but I would say with so many regulars finishing in top 3 it isn't bad. End of this year I will go through every series in Texas documenting regular vs. jackpotter placers, last minute entries allowed, and paybacks. Will be fun end of 2014 to look back to see the Platinum results. How many jackpotters placed and also if they raised entries above 100 against their word.

Rob, Nobody has ever said that the number of entries would never be raised.

TTZ welcomes jackpotters, guides, pros, people in jerseys, beer drinkers, people with wrapped boats, people with jon boats, people with center consoles, and hackish amateurs like myself. I guarantee that no matter what category (or how many) you fall in, you will have a good time.
Stay tuned for more news this fall on where and when we will be fishing. Definitely have bigger and better things in store for 2014.

I define jack potters as those that only fish tournaments on certain lakes and don't follow a trail.
Example series A has tournaments on rayburn, Liv ,Conroe , Somerville
A team only enters the rayburn tourney, and their next tourney is whomevers next tourney falls on rayburn. They don't follow a series.
You can't stop it, and really shouldn't care too. It's thier perogative to just fish tourneys on their home lake.
If you are afraid of who might show up in a tourney you've already lost.
Worry more about the fish and less about what others are doing , or just fish on your home lake or fish club stuff etc....

It's thier perogative to just fish tourneys on their home lake. you certainly can stop it, but I agree there doesn't appear to be any trails in Texas right now that you have to sign up for series to get entry. too many tournaments competing right now to fill up series entries only. that may be a good niche for some series in future. until then nothing illegal or wrong in my book about jackpotting, so go for it if that's how you do it.

Why is everyone afraid of jackpotters? You are supposed to be fishing against the fish and not the other competitors.

I agree with Rob. You can stop jackpotters a by doing exactly what PTT did (if it works the way I think it will). Enter all of them at once or don't get entered.

I'll settle this!! I'll start a new thread on the definition of a jackpotter. I'm certain we'll all agree on that one, too. That one didn't last long! If you are afraid of who might show up in a tourney you've already lost.
Worry more about the fish and less about what others are doing
That is why most people have lost before they even put the boat in the water. I've even done it to myself before!

Why is everyone afraid of jackpotters? You are supposed to be fishing against the fish and not the other competitors. not worried about jackpotters, but out of 100 considerations for a series, one of them when you are doing the entire series is how your value will be decreased by jackpotters. it might not be enough to pick another series or it might. most bass tournaments are weighted VERY heavy to the win for payback. you can look at it as a series angler that you are going for consistent finishes anyway and doesn't matter what happens at the top or you can look at it that your odds at the heavily weighted 1st prize are diminished. maybe best you don't have mindset of a good businessman when it comes to these jackpotter friendly series. jackpotters will fight to the death for their gravy train calling everyone else names. a "series" type angler like myself just has to weigh everything on table and make best decision.

Huh? Maybe I'm a little slow, but I didn't follow this.
