Well it's been a busy few months for me. I've been working every day except Sundays, but I've made up for it by running two trips daily on a lot of days. This has been a strange year for fish behavior on Tawakoni. The hybrid and striper are not following the usual patterns that they have for the last twenty something years that I've been here. We are still catching limits every day. Some days it's a cakewalk, other days it is like pulling teeth. I've only had one trip in months we did not get a limit of hybrid and stripes. Now for the meat of the report. It's really simple. Get out at daybreak with the new long slabs from www.moestackleshop.com and watch for birds or surface busts. Just chunk and wind. They just will not bite the sassy very well for me right now. After that, or if they don't school...... Go get bait and fish every point or hump break in 22-30'. If you hit enough you will find em and be out of bait fast. We have had some incredible numbers of solid fish lately on bait. It's just that time of year. You can find em bunched up and if you have slabs tied on, a live bait rod will just embarrass you..... It is what it is. The afternoon bite is flop flopped but the same. Start out live baiting, then later go to a slab. I actually saw some pretty good top water action jus before dusk the past few days.


I am starting to sign up PARTY BOAT TRIPS

They will start on July 23 and be every Tuesday and Thursday till October. The cost is $75 per person. This is a great way to fish on the cheap, meet some new friends, and learn electronics without breaking the bank. I just sign up the first four that call me. If you have four guys, I will do $75 a man on any weekday still open.
