Hrd to say. That is a looooong strech of beachfront beginning at the jetties and heading south. I prefer to idle down the beach and look for baitfish activity or birds working. Otherwise, it's more hit and miss. Of course, learning how to read the water to find the little rips helps too.

That sounds like fun. I suggest getting up early and wade to just above you knees and cast with live shrimp. (Port Aransas and not Aransas Pass) and fish until about 10:30 or earlier. After that the heat will kill. Wear a hat and sunblock and if you see a fin just above the water's surface swimming around, remember, it's time to get out of the water! LOL! Good Luck, CF?

Was in Port A the past week. There was a lot seaweed on Thursday but things cleared up Friday.

Here is a clip of what we caught Sunday 14 July. Started out catching Whiting for bait, then used the kayak to deploy baits past the third sand bar. Hoped for Shark but ended up with a Keeper Speckle Trout that went 18" in size, a large Whiting, and a 24"+ Ladyfish! Fun stuff! Video Clip

After fishing the Jetty Party Boat in Port Aransas, decided to hit the surf for more fishing! Went with Live Shrimp and Medium Spinning Gear. Was able to catch a Jack Crevalle, a Perch (we think), and a Croaker! A tasty wave and a cool Bud is all we needed! Video Clip.

Rain slowed us up a little, but saw a break and rigged up Popping Corks and baited up with Live Shrimp and fished the Packery Channel on Wednesday, 16 July. Caught Speckle Trout, Red Fish, and a Lady Fish. Fun stuff... no Keepers this round though!
Video Clip.

More rain in the area but made a break for Packery Channel again when the rain let up on Thursday, 17 July. Fished with Live Shrimp and Cut Bait and caught a number of fish! No Keepers again though! Video Clip.

One more go fishing at the beach on Thursday, 18 July, before we head back. Lots of seaweed made it tough to fish but did manage to catch a 14" Speckle Trout. Also, caught bait fish using the cast net and saw a Portuguese Man O' War wash up on the beach!
Video Clip.

Thanks gar1970. Had a fun time there; can't wait to try it again! Next round (not sure when), going to try more live shrimp and popping cork rigs in the flats and passes.

PS: Here is an article that may be of interest to some on how to make a Simple Fish Tail Mount. Used the Jack Crevalle mentioned in this post!
