wife has some friends coming to palestine so since i'll have her and the kids was wondering if there is a swimming area anywhere on the lake?

The campgrounds (I think it is known as Lake Palestine Resort) use to have a swimming area.

Very little public access to the shoreline.

Swim at own risk.

Might check into Lake Tyler. There are some parks over there
with swimming areas.

There are always people swimming down at the dam at the little beach area near the ramp.

I remember seeing people swimming at a "beach area" next to one of the bridges on 155, coming from Tyler. I can't remember which bridge, and this has been about 20 years ago.

Find the lighthouse. Beacon Point, as I recall. It's just past Cobb Inlet, right near the large island. Southwest area of the lake. When water is up near normal, this is about as "beach" as it gets. It's rocky on the point and further out, but typical swimming area is pretty good. It can be busy, though! I believe you have to pay a few bucks, but I had a lake house just around the bend so I never had to pay when I anchored up there.
