The evening bite last night was on for most anglers in the Thursday night working mans out of Lake Fork Marina. We had 2 different teams bring in an over which is awesome for a 3 hour event.

I am sure you have already heard, but the weigh in was a mess. The guy running the scales had no idea what he was doing. It was mass confusion to say the least. Forgot to reset the scales for the first 8 or so weigh ins which means all of the weights were wrong. Weighed in a fish that looked under 2 lbs and said it was 3.07. An angler tried to step in and take over which was a big help, but the damage had already been done. Please let us know what the plan is to make this right. Thanks.

I spoke with numerous anglers last night about what took place. Rocco has helped me with big events for several years and has conducted weigh ins in the past with my supervision. I obviously made a mistake in thinking he was prepared to run solo. The scales I use have a memory that records it's last 100 events. Once I have my hands on the weigh in sheet and the scales I will be able to verify that the right folks got paid. From what I am told only 3 weights were in question. I did not award the BB money last night as I am not sure if it was accurate. After interviewing the top 5 I think we know where we are at. I will post results when all is complete and verified.
My Apologies Again In seven years we have never had a single issue at the scales.
Be Blessed Mark

After interviewing numerous anglers and going through the scales and the weights I feel secure in saying that the anglers who were paid Saturday night were in fact the right ones with one exception. That being the fourth place which was won with 8.47 lbs, there is question as to the weight that was called from Rocco's side of the scale where he read as 8.42 it could have in fact been 8.48 as some have said. His digital readout is only 1" compared to the 7" readout on the LED display that the anglers can see. I can see where in all of the commotion and confusion that Rocco could have misread an actual 8 for a 2 on a digital readout.
The scales showed that the baskets were properly tared for all but the first team weighing fish who due to a slot fish penalty were not in the payout range.
The second team to weigh in had the 3.07 BB with a 10.70 limit. Rocco weighed their BB first and originally called it a 4.54 which we all know is not possible on a 15 7/8" bass, at that point he tared the baskets and obtained the weight of 3.07 pounds. I interviewed both anglers who have fished with me for a long time and they both said they new that their fish would average 2 lbs and that they were on a 10 lb limit. They found a school of bass that feeding heavy on shad off of a point and culled up to this limit. Robert told me that the 3.07 was so fat that he thinks that is what helped him measure under the 16" mark.
All of the remaining winning weights were in line with what the anglers thought they had in their livewells and felt that they did not get shorted or added to.
Only 12 of the 20 teams who fished weighed in their bass, as most of the anglers know on Lake Fork Nights if you do not have a 7+ lb or better bag you are not going to cash.
Rocco was not as prepared for this as I thought he was and I take all of the blame. I will not put him in that position again.
I will say that I am very disappointed in the way that a couple of you acted towards Diana and Rocco at this weigh in. You guys had them literally scared for their lives and I do not understand that at all.
I will be paying an additional 4th Place to the team of Dustin Black and Josh Priest.
Our next Lake Fork Nights event is July 6th out of The Minnow Bucket Marina. I hope that this one event in 7 years does not keep you away. I will be taking off work that night in order to run the event as it should have been.
We have had a good run at these events and will continue them with your support.
