This is a note on the JK website wrt the Kilroy:

•Hard deck (standard) and soft deck (optional, available Summer 2013) for more gear storage

A soft deck definitely puts it in direct competition with the Ultimate and Commander.

I do kayakwars and this would GREALY help the instance of the fish jumping out while getting the picture.

I lost 30pts in one day, letting that happen.

Invest in a lip grip and you won't have that problem anymore.

Re: the look cool part. Jackson needs to get rid of their Wal-Mart smiley face logo for something a bit more "professional". Likewise, while their seat is supposedly one of the better in the marketplace, it almost looks home-made - Hobie and Native have the best looking seats IMO. But I really like a lot of the hard features that JK builds into their boats - rod stagers, etc. IMO, Jackson's are "the engineer's boat".

I do graphic design work if Jackson wants to look at refreshing their logo... Will trade logos for kayaks rolfmao cheers

They have had that signature logo for many years so I don't look for them to change it.

I don't think they should change the logo, its a personal choice for the guys up at Jackson. Plus I like it. Not sure I'd agree that the seat looks homemade, I may be biased because I know how good the seat is but it looks sturdy and well built. However we are all allowed our opinions. But isnt this thread about the kilroy not about opinions on Jackson?

No offense to Jackson meant BassCowboy. I would say the Kilroy is in the top 3 of SINK/Hybrid boats. Having an engineering background, I think Jackson are some of the better (if not best) engineered boats - I really like what Jackson builds into it's offerings and I think the Kilroy is going to be a hit.

With that said and wrt my opinions, you have to remember the opinions are coming from a guy who attaches pieces of wood to his boat. wink

As a waterfowl hunter, this could be my next boat. I'm trying to figure out if I could or even should take my Tarpon 100 next season. I don't have that much storage on it and would probably have to take a sled behind me. The Kilroy looks like it would solve that.

Jackson sure does a great job designing kayaks. Im not a fan of sit ins but this one looks pretty cool. Lots of nice features. Two or three years ago the only jacksons I ever heard of were the cheapo ones they rent out at ambush outfitters on the lower mountain fork. They have come a long way from that.
