Not these little dinky ones they have these days but back when they were actuual places to sit down and eat. They had a killer breakfast and it seemed we always stopped at one when travelling which was a few times a year. Maybe it was just from being a kid and not knowing better but they had the best ham and bacon I have had in a place like that.
Also used to love stopping in Clines Corner, NM but sadly its a shell of its former self and is under ownership that has stripped away the old school Route 66 heritage of it all.

I'm pretty sure that there was a Stuckeys on I-10 in Mississippi or Alabama that we would stop at. Whether is was a Stuckeys or not, I don't know. All I really remember is that they sold fireworks year round, and to a kid that liked to blow stuff up, that was the best thing I had ever seen.

when I was a kid gas was about 35 cents a gallon but at Clines corners it was 60 cents, we would stop there but dad would not buy gas there.

Clines Corners was a huge tourist trap but they were always crowded and as a kid it was a damn fun place. They sold everything.

My parents were too frugal to stop at those place. Seven kids and two parents in a station wagon, we ate sandwiches while driving.

me, my sister and parents always used to stop at the one in Forney on the way back from Tawakoni every sunday evening after staying the weekend at our houseboat docked at Duck Cove back in the 1960s.

Dognot.

The 'drinking bird" is stilled sold. Just Google
"drinking bird". Had one in my office for years.
Fun thing to watch.
