The Kruse fish was one of 173 adult ShareLunker offspring that were released into Lake Naconiche in 2009 Raising them to adults and then releasing them makes a big difference.

The only legit "SAL basher" I've talked to said genetics ARE the reason he doesn't like the program. Specifically how they choose the males. Anyone who says genetics don't play a role. . .yikes.

Well according to the math. The article says those fish are 8 years old. It weighs 12.5 lbs which means 1.65lbs of growth per year. That means that fish was only a little over 6lbs when released into naconiche. I wouldnt consider 6lbs to be quite an adult fish and even though it was raised to 6lbs, it still had to eat its way up to 12.5. I cant say if a bass would grow that fast from birth in a public lake but having the genes of a monster you get the appetite of a monster. I personally dont believe regular stockings grow as fast as sharelunker stockings. Maybe they should do a shock test on fork or rayburn and see. Then it would be conclusive and no more arguments. Now you have my .02
