Is this a good starter Kayak ? Could i add a PVC seat to it like i have saw on here before? Pro's and Con's would help me a lot because i am going to buy this weekend.

The reason I was asking is that for another $100, you have the option of a new 12' which will give you a little faster, likely more stable and better resale yak. Of course, the 10' may be a bit more manueverable and a few lbs lighter for easier loading/portage/etc.
A friend has the 12' and I expect the 10' has a lot of the same attributes:
Pros Good price Easy resale as someone is always looking for a used starter yak Comes with rod holders Good color (IMO) and the plastic seems to holds up well The flat hull design makes for a very stable platform and is an easy turner (see negs)
Cons Flat hull design does not have great tracking - not horrible but not as well as other boats (of course, those boats prob don't turn as well - one of the compromises often with yak design). Friend had paddled a Pescador before buying the Heritage(which I consider a competing yak to the Heritage) and he noted it tracks better - less correction needed, etc. But it's always about preferences and what you need most - I think this yak is more than acceptable. Seat is questionable - friend ended up adding extra padding.
Overall, I think it is a great starter and a way to get on the water and fishing with minimal cash outlay.

I've had my heritage angler 10 SOT for about a year now and I love it! It was my very first kayak purchase and I researched many different kayaks around the same price range, I found the Heritage to be best fit for me. I can stand up in it and paddle standing up, great for sight fishing. I still have PLENTY of room to relax and fully extend my legs plus some! I'm 5 foot 11 inches and 175 lbs. I also purchased a depth finder and scotty mount. The depth finder is located right in between my legs and I can easily reacvh the buttons. The only thing I notice is that when you are loaded down with 4-5 rods and all your tackle, this thing feels like it weighs 700 lbs. Once you get going it isn't bad, just the initial 2-3 paddles.
