I think you meant "plain", sir. What popular topic hasn't been beat to death here or elsewhere? Just be thankful all you have to do is read. Or choose not to.
yep, people gonna get gun shy about asking questions if they keep getting bashed around here..

I had a 20 ft Champ and it did great in rough water, but my 21 I class Skeeter handles the rough water better.

Barret and I took his 19 foot ranger to falcon when the wind never blew below 25 the whole trip. In 3 full days of fishing, we speared one wave. User error (Barret's ADD). We did however see at least a half dozen boats a day, most being 20 footers, spear waves. Mouth of the tiger's is a hairy place when the wind get's up.
Moral of the story, put a bad driver in a big boat, and a good driver in a smaller boat, throw some 4 ft waves in the mix and the big boat will end up full of water eventually.

When I lived in Nacogdoches I would have agreed 100%. I fished Lake Nacogdoches, Pinkston, Murvaul, alot with Rayburn and Toledo mixed in. I had a 17 1/2 foot boat and it was enough.
Now I fish Rayburn and Toledo 95% of the time and it didn't take me long to get into a 20 foot Champ. Handling rough water moved way up on my list.

You seriously took Dax's comments as bashing? Seems very mild and more frustrated cause all the brand homers tout what is in tbeir driveway instead of good useable info.

i owned 3-20 foot skeeter zx 200 and 202 models (yes i am aware its not the same boat as the i class, fx or whatever they call it now). I owned a bass cat cougar after and have had a triton tr 21 since and still drive. My fav was the bass cat....Wish i would have never sold that boat...The triton and skeeters were good boats but IMO not the same class as a kitty for ride, fishability, quality and of course speed.

I like my narrow boat. I like to stand as close as I can to the edge and try and tip it over like a canoe!

Seriously the Skeeter Ranger or Tritons fish the best of the boats I've been in. But every time I'm able to fish the wind blows Mach 3 so I'm happy with my narrow, leaning, lead sled. Plus I'm Stress Crack Free! Now if that's not considered an honest opinion well I'm sorry.

Rough Water, you want a heavy boat. The heavier the smoother the ride. In lighter performance hulls fill both livewells up and fill the gas tank.

I don't know, if you are in a 21 foot boat and it is a rough riding boat then maybe you need to learn how to drive.

Maybe not bashing but maybe making someone feel stupid for asking a question on this forum. Not just this thread, seems like too much negativity lately...

I own a 19.3 Charger. I have been happy with the rough water ride. Conroe gets pretty big sometimes, but I can usually get to the spot I want. Plus the Charger has a good fish ability for me............ plus its payed for.

I think Hull, driver then length. You can look at some boats and tell their hull isnt real deep its usually a rough riding boat in rough water. Mine handles real good in rough water, But like toad snatcher said it is real tippy when fishing, esp when I fish with my buddy that is 6'8 350 pounds and wants to stand on same side as me lol.
