I took my kid to the park there but also to scope out the ponds they have. Has anyone fished these ponds? They look pretty shallow but I saw a lot of sunfish in them. Just wondering what else is in there and if it's worth my time to fish them. Thanks

If its the ponds I think they are, they've got various sunfish including Largemouth Bass, hehe. Also channel cat, plenty of bullhead, probably some small crappie, common carp, and way too many turtles lol.

Caught them all on worms, right at dark in corner near the fishing pier, right next to the canal.

There are some nice crappie in there along with some big cats. Coppell used to stock trout every year. The Fla bass grew fast and fat. Hard to get them as they hang out in the deeper middle. If you time the spawn you might get lucky with one that will make your eyes bug. Water is murky so spotting the beds is hard. Covering ground with swim baits helps. Same with the big cats. Deep middle. Most of the lake within casting range is shallow
Razzorduck Better tighten that drag boy, He's gonna spool ya!

I got skunked twice at dusk at the pond with the dock. The small one behind the aquatic center had gar, sunfish, and 6" bass, didn't get anything else. The tiny overflow pond between the 2 big ones gave me five 12" bass a month ago on a rooster tail. Biggest thing is that the big pond has been fenced off and under construction, don't know why.
