Caught 13 this evening from about 5 till dark. Caught maybe 10 short fish as well. Most were on brush in 8-10 ft, but some were on a 5 ft deep pile, and three keepers were up in 2 ft. Mostly small fish up shallow. They definitely wanted black and chartreuse, and nibbles. They were biting pretty soft, not whacking it good. I did catch this one that was 15 inches, the biggest crappie I've caught on Phantom. Lake record is 2.7 something pounds and 15 3/4 inches. This one was a little smaller than that, but still a whopper in my book.

Good fish! we did pretty good on phantom today also. Lots of boats on phantom today. Probably the most I have seen.

There are a few piles still. The main one was one I put in last winter.

Great fish. This freeze we are about to get will set the shallow fishing back a few days. I took the second week of April off and dedicated it to crappie fishing Phantom. Black/chart is what I have had the best luck on also.

That's a great fish! Thanks for the post, reminds me that I've been looking too shallow for them and just need to back off and fish a few feet deeper.

I fished yesterday also, just fished honey hole dock, many people which makes it crowded, but the fish just aren't shallow enough yet, my sister first time jiggen and myself her instructor caught 8 keepers in 12 fow, seen alot of fish caught and some big ones get away

We caught almost all our fish in 2-4' of water. We didnt have a great day but we did put fish in the boat. That honey hole place is cool but it does get very crowded and makes it tough sometimes.
