Franco's in San Angelo. I know you were joking but Joe T's fajitas are over marinated horse jerky.

I have noticed the "best _____ restaurant" and the "worst ______ restaurants" usually end up being about the same. Taste is such an individual thing with people. I will say Joe T's is the most overrated Mexican restaurant in the state.

Have to agree with the notion that most are pretty much the same. I try to find a hole-in-the-wall that has decent prices, good service, a happy hour, and cars in the parking lot that are not Caddies or Lexus.. Jalapeno's in McKinney is one of these. Nothing fancy - just good food, and the locals keep it in business.

Salsa Fuego in Ft. Worth - Named one of the 5 best in the state by Texas Monthly. They're in a converted KFC by the old Weatherford Traffic Circle and their Carne Asada echiladas with roasted jalapeno cream sauce and smothered steak burrito are amazing.. And oddly enough they also have one of the best burgers in town. http://salsafuegofw.com/

I like El Ranchero in LaPorte.
The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.

Mexican food not to be confused by Tex-Mex... big difference.
My choice in Lewisville is Taqueria Guadalajara, for their tortas & tacos. There is another spot, forgot the name, but the family is from Monterrey and they make good cabrito and pollo asado... which Monterrey is known for. El Paisa in Grapevine is another good one for Tortas. Corner of Beltline and Josey in Carrollton has lots of hole in the walls, can't go wrong with many of those places.

Via Real, in Irving, It's actually "Southweswtern" but it's Mexican, too.
