Not much of a Crappie Lake. I have caught some good size ones around the marinas and when trolling in August using Chartreuse lures. This time of year, I would stay in the coves around the marinas, use my fish finder and jigs/ minnows and see if you could pick one up. (An even better idea would be to abandon Texoma for Fork or Ray Roberts) [img:left] http://s1300.beta.photobucket.com/user/PKfishin/media/photo19_zps388ff4ec.jpg.html[/img]

Use your Side imaging and go through the marinas and look for brush and such. I know if you get to the last boat house in highport and take a left and go down that side of the cove, there is some brush. Let us know how you do!

I am in the Oklahoma side and do well with crappie. They are all over. I have put out brush and located some works of art that others have put out as well. Here is a tree tied to a bridge!

That looks like a real Honey Hole. That would not be up near HWY 70 would it? I usually get an Okie fishing license every year. I may need to try that side more. The wind is usually from the south and I'm normally leery of Texoma "surf".

I could be wrong but my experience is that Ray Roberts is full of Crappie. I've tied up to trees and poles out east of wold island and found them easily. I only occasionally find Crappie in Texoma. However, the ones I catch are more than 14 inches.

Ray Roberts is great I just alsways have caught so many dinks there.

I read these forums all the time, but I had to go ahead and register and post once I saw the texoma crappie hatin! ;-) The Big Mineral public use area in Hagerman wildlife refuge is always a great crappie spot. 2 pole limit and you need a Texoma license, but there are plenty fish to catch! You can easily walk the banks of the creek to jig plenty of fallen timber. You can also drive out on the oil pads and catch em holding at the mouth of the creek. No boats with motors allowed till after April 1st. Do NOT speed tho, you will definitely get a ticket from the wardens!
