Breckinridge is a good lake for numbers sometimes, but I have never heard of anyone bragging about the size of fish they caught there. I am not sure about Lake Breckinridge, but Hubbard creek has some big uns- Choke Canyon was turning out some but I haven't heard anything about it in awhile-

Try some of the Private Bass Waters. This is the time of year to do it if you are ever going to. Private Water Fishing does have some awesome trophy bass lakes. You do have to pay a bit extra to fish the trophy lakes, but the pics from there are spectacular. Some people don't mind paying a bit to fish the better lakes, some do. Your call.
