Had the chance to get a Frontier out on the water today to see what they are all about. Looking at the boat you will notice right off is the width. This thing is WIDE! Pulling the boat off the trailer i noticed the weight.It is a heavy boat but certainly manageable by one person with the handles at the bow and stern plus each side of the boat. I wouldnt want to car top this thing myself but the back of a truck would be no problem.

My first thoughts on the water were that it wasnt going to track so well but a few strokes of the paddle and it straightened right up. I was very suprised at how well it tracked for such a wide boat. The speed didnt seem to bad either. I also noticed how manuverable the Frontier is. It will turn in a hurry. I would recommend at the least a 260 paddle. I think NuCanoe recommends a 275. With my 240 I was banging the sides of the boat but it wasnt horrible.

Now on to stability. WOW! I was able to stand anywhere in this boat and feel perfectly safe. No issues with standing up and turning around to adjust the seat. The seat base is mounted on a rail system so that it can be moved closer to the bow or stern to properly trim the boat depending on your load.

Overall I think NuCanoe knocked it out of the park with the Frontier. Its a huge improvement over their first model. There is also a Frontier 10 coming soon. Did you feel that the floor had too much give? Just wondering if it has a flex kind of like a tub style boat. Kind of worried with such few scupper holes is there any lack of support in that 20" cast and blast deck?
