I've always wondered I catch them in my net at Navarro from time to time, I always throw them back because I'm not sure.

keep um anew they make for a great baitfish as they have very healthy numbers in TX I've heard LMB Crappie and cats love um

Walleyes do not have round tails, and they have larger jaws. I've never actually seen a log perch, but its definitely not a walleye.

I don't think it's a walleye...I've grown up catching those things and have never seen one that looked like that. Saugers are not golden in color at all. Walleyes or saugers don't have those vertical lines either...does look like some sort of perch. An actual perch though...not a bluegill that is mistakenly called a perch. LOL

I vaguely remember someone telling me what I snagged last summer was a log perch. They look to be the same.
