Ok so I am finally in the market for a new bass boat . My 1999 Bass Cat Jaguar is being passed down to my son . I've probably been in literally every major bass boat out there but the Phoenix . Something about this boat is intriguing to me . Maybe because not many people have them in my area . I am looking for some input from you TFF folks . What are some pros and cons from those of you who own a Phoenix or those of you who have been in them . How do they stack up to the big dogs in the industry ? Thanks in advance for any replies .

If your considering a dual console be aware that the passenger side does not lock down tight. Looked at several of them at the boat show then one at a dealer a week or so later. Talked to the dealer about it as well. A single latch locks it in while two aligning pins square it up and hold some of the weight. It's a good boat/layout but I, myself, couldn't deal with the rattlin' console going down the lake.... Not sure why they did it like that and got the rest of the boat so right.
It's not what a man knows that bothers me. It's what a man "KNOWS" that ain't necessairly so that has me conserned.

I love em about the only other brand id consider. The handling at speed is insane. Truly a well thought out boat. The graphics and striping however are not my favorite by any means.

I rode with Gary Clouse last year on Conroe and the boat seriously impressed me. I really do think they thought of everything with these boats. I can say without a doubt it was the best riding boat I have ever been in. We also have a guy in our club that runs one and he loves it.

My buddy Derek G has one. You might PM him and ask him. I love them. They fish really well, are fast, and ride smooth. They would be on my short list if I was in the market. I love them!

My family has had a Phoenix 721 for 3 years. We love it. When the time comes to replace it we will go with another Phoenix. A lot of people come up to us at the ramps to Check it out.
The storage was well thought out, especially the tool slots and net compartment.
As for the comment about the rattlin' console, we have never had a problem with that. No rattlin' at speeds over 70 or during large crashing waves. The console holds firmly in place. We love the design of the console. We leave it in place except for tournament days and when we need more room. It takes less than a minute to remove it.

This is sounding better and better . I have to find out who the closest dealer is to me in south LA and take a ride in one . I wonder how much of a price difference when you go from the 721 to the 921 for the 7 extra inches ?

If you decide to go with a Phoenix and the 921 is more than you want to spend you might check and see if you can find a 719. I don't know for sure if that model is still being built or not but it is more affordable than the 721 and there is very little noticeable difference between the two.

The only knock I have heard on them is resale value. But that is more due to the newness of the brand then the boats quality. If you keep it as long as your Jaguar then that would be a non factor.

I like the looks of them minus some of the graphics but otherwise damn good looking boats. also can do without the whole cheesy Phoenix Phamily stuff when you buy one. Only negative I have heard is some guys had issues with the boats loading on the trailer right but the trailer manufacturer and Phoenix made it right for those that contacted them. They seem to have great customer service too.

The amount of storage the boat has is unbelievable and the removable console is great. Once locked in place its not going anywhere and its removed or installed rather quick. Its one awesome boat you want be disappointed.

The closest dealer to you is Ascension Marine in Gonzales, LA. Just tell Tammy I sent you. If you ever come up to Toledo Bend I'd be glad to give you a test ride. I've had 3 of them and about to have a new one in a couple of weeks.
