Just curious to know what your FX or ZX runs. I've got a ZX20 with a 250 sho, that seemed to run a lot faster the first couple months i owned it. Now Im running hi 60's. Curious to know if theres a problem with the way the jack plate is set, because I remember running mid to high 70's the first few months. Also it seems to stop trimming up at a certain point when on pad. Is that normal?

I do not know if this helps but I had a 06 20I with a HPDI 250 that run 74 MPH They are the slowest boat they make in a 20ft. I would think with the 20 ft and a SHO that you should do at least that I would think no gear and low fuel you should be upper 70's just my .02

I seem to be having the same issues. I run a zx200 with a 200 sho. My trim seems to be stopping as well. 5550 rpm is all she will do low 60 mph. I'm definitely taking my boat to Steve's Custom Props next week to see if he can work his magic. I will post as soon as I get it back from Steve

Have you not lost your holiday weight? Just kidding....might have your motor checked. My zx200 runs about the same it always has and it's 3 years old. How's your rpm's?

That would probably be the best thing to do. There is definately something wrong. your boat should be running in the high 70's all day long. I dont think its a trim issue. sounds more like a motor problem.

It may be dropping a cylinder.

Look for bent hot foot cable/mechanism.

I went through all kind Of stuff looking for lost mph and rpm's and it was hot foot related.

Also I find after a few tourneys my boat slows down, then I realize I've added a couple hundred pounds of gear I'm not using lol

I honestly have never seen a Skeeter run in the high 70's. maybe 72-74mph but I have not seen any faster than that. I have owned more than a couple of them myself.
I would definitely check out your engine as something might be up.

Skeeter has never had a 19.5 ft boat with a 250 on it either until last year though Mark. The zx225 was only rated for a 225

Good point. My 20i, Zx250 or 3-4 Zx225's all were 70mph boats with a couple able to get a tad above the 70 mark.
