They told a wife of a soldier that she had won a trip to the Rose Parade that her husband had entered her in. She showed up and her husband who had been serving in Afghanistan was on one of the floats as a surprise! Very cool!

Typical California liberal anti war BS. Always have to get the bring them home message in anywhere they can. It's a football game parade, leave the political statements for somewhere else.

Really Keith? Totally disagree with that one

You ever been present when a soldier returns home?? I don't tear up much. Seeing it live before has got me

A soldier coming home is magical when they come up there driveway, to a house of a loved one and hug, kiss and thank God for the ability to see each other again. Or at an airport or bus station and its a true moment between the soldier and the loved ones.

However, when you make a production of it, it's a political statement. Same goes for anytime they pimp it to a news crew at the rose parade, the school play or at a baseball game.

Screw you for being in town one second longer than it takes you to go home, hiding from kids or wife/husband just to get some sort of thrill out of being in front of a huge group of people instead of getting to your loved ones as fast as possible.

keith maybe you should read this.

The surprise reunion, coordinated by the military and pet food company Natural Balance, was seven months in the making. The family was kept on a need-to-know basis, which means Army Sgt. First Class Eric Pazz, 32, wasn't informed of the surprise until five weeks ago, when he was tasked with telling wife Miriam Pazz, 29, that she won an an all expenses-paid trip to the Rose Parade through a military-only contest.

Pazz served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and has received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. At the end of this week, he will return to Afghanistan until his discharge date in March.

to honor a hero with something like this should be applauded. I see nothing political in any of it.

HAHHA, so it wasn't even a true homecoming, they are shipping his arse back to the sandlot for 3 months. That blows. Way to ruin a 4 year olds psyche by yanking the rug out from under him. What a cluster.

At least you got to feel good about it even though it was a lie and fairy-tale that causes hurt and pain for the loved ones to watch this cat have to leave them again.
