Trotlines n juglines sux no sport or skill. Wouldnt be proud of that. But you could check with the people that run the lake if they have designated trotline areas.the jet skiers should have designated areas as well.

Chuck, thanks for the great info on the depth of the fish. I do not have a fish finder yet but was thinking of picking one up. whats the key thing to look for in a good fish finder. i like how the DI ones look.

Welcome to the TFF

Lake worth sandbass, bass, crappie have an advisory. Smallmouth buffalo and catfish are still on the consumption ban for PCB levels being too high

Also if you go you better know the lake and follow the rules. The marshal has been writing tickets left and right.

a little general info. make sure you set legal. Have hooks 10 ft apart. use clips so you can remove hooks if you have a big fish on. you really don't want a hook in your arm when it make a run. have a partner. run at least once a day. Shad or perch for bait. in a lake set your line about half way in the water column. i.e. 20ft water, set 10ft. I set at least 5ft down to avoid props. Ignore the folks that think there way is the only way and say make it illegal. we get pleny of that from the polititions.

wow im surprised at the distance of the hook spacing, i set mine about 3-5 feet apart and have 25 hooks so its a long T-line as it is. if i was to set it 10ft aprart with 25 hooks, thats over 200 yards long. whaaattttt i cant imagine setting out a t line that long. am i mis understanding the 10ft rule

Geeze guys, do we have to jump all over ever set/trot /jugliner who comes into this section? I wish I had info to give you. Ive never run a trotline in my life. And you obviously arent going to get a whole lotta help over here. Im sure there are some dedicated trotline websites out there, may try finding one of those for you answers. Or just try trial and error. Set em out shallow one trip, see what happens, if you dont find em, change spots each trip til you do...
