If you really want to bring out the beasts, bait your line with Zote Soap and tie a can of Milwaukee's Best to each end with a tiny hole punched in the lid.

Have you ever heard of this stuff? Rednecks love Zote Soap and Milwaukee's Best and so do monster cats.

Whats up Stinkbait tom, I see im catching more of a hard time on here than fish haha. no hard feelings, Still have not had a good answer on how deep I should set my line? or does it even matter? is it more about location and trees in the water? How deep do you fish when you use rod and reel for big cats?

Most wintertime trophy blues are caught in deep water after the water hits the forties! Right now get fresh shad and try 3 to 15 ft in the lakes your talking sbout.

Chad of learntocatchcatfish fame makes it, so I am sure it works...but I have never caught anyhing on it. Your best bet is to bring your own shad to ray roberts and take advantage of its abundant deep timber.
