I have a G3 1860 CC DLX that I use for a work/fishing boat on Lake Travis. By nature of the hull design and the weight being less than a comparable size fiberglass boat, it's going to be rough and wet in rough water. The 2072 may be a little better because of the additional weight, but you'll still have to drive like a human being in rough conditions or it's going to be pretty uncomfortable. It is what it is and a Boston Whaler it ain't. That said, I put a Fishmaster T-top on mine, and I can't imagine a more versatile boat for what I do.

I have the 2072 sc. It's great. You will get wet in waves and it will beat you up. I have a 115 on it and as heavy as the boat is I am glad I went with that motor. Very stable And room for everyone to fish.

Smooth riding and modified v aluminum boats do not belong in the same sentence. The center console will help. That way at least you can stand up when you drive. I have thought about converting mine to a center console.

had an express 2072 cc with a yammy 115hp 4stroke, same hull design as above. sold it after a year. beat me to death out on the lake, soaking wet with any wind and waves. was never worried safety wise, was very stable. Rough riding boat in waves.

As stated not a smooth or dry ride in rough water, but will go real shallow and get you back to the bank. I'd much prefer a G3 over a Tracker and yes I have been in both. A 22' helps some.

I have a Lowe 1860, mod v. The ride is fine I have been out in some pretty rough weather. But I haven't been in many other boats so I don't have much to compare it to.

The advantage of the modified v is stability. I can have two 200# men stand on the very edge of my boat and it hardly tilts. I have fished in RDZ's Lowe FM 165 several times and that boat cuts through the waves well, but it noticeably lists if the load is not balanced.

Not much livewell on the G3s I have been in, but I havent been in the 20'. That being said the G3 is a tough boat. Another gripe was the roto mold console.

Buy a deep v tracker with a 115 to 125hp motor 20 to 22ft long you will be satisfied.

I have never seen a 20 ft deep v tracker. The livewell stinks on just about any the center console boats.

If someone woukd make a boat like one of those pictured above and add a 30 gallon livewell and a deep v bottom then you would have a nice cat boat.

I have never seen a 20 ft deep v tracker. The livewell stinks on just about any the center console boats. That's what I got. I redone all of it and added a 35 gal livewell. Takes big waves quite nice. I will post pics in a few. Just for some ideas.
