What a beautiful day to be on the Brazos River. Saturday morning 5 of us managed to pull off a great day of fun, fishing, and fellowship. We put in at Rochell's off of Hwy 4 in Graford TX. After two weeks of planning and organizing where to put and then to take out it turned out pretty close to a flawless trip. The water was up and running and we had our luck at fishing cut out for us. We tried just about everything we had in our tackle boxes to get those darn fish to bite. We did manage to get some in the kayaks and some pictures to prove that we did. You know the old saying, if there aint no pictures it never happened. Myself, I really didnt catch very many, but what I did catch is a full day of memories that Ill never forget. I couldnt have picked a better bunch of guys to hang out with. After we calculated about how far we ran this river to our take out we guessed pretty close to 12 miles and 10 hours. I think I counted about 6 times we had to get out of the kayaks to float them past the skinny places, but not one time we had to carry a kayak across dry land. Those of you know when you run the Brazos thats a blessing not to carry a kayak across a dry spot. Walking away from this outing, what first came to mind after reflecting back on this day, was the beautiful canvas the Lord painted for all of to see going down the Brazos and the stories shared amongst fellow ambassadors of kayaking. I want to thank those that attended the river run, Anthony Drake, Zombie, JTMAX, and Brain Mc Anthony drake Zombie JTMAX Brian Mc myself- Cudadude

Glad you guys had a good trip! Sometimes the company is just as important as the fishing.

Was a good time and all around great trip. It seemed like we were planning for summer vacation, but I think all the thought and planned details helped for a smooth day. I'm offloading and processing pics tonight, and will upload a bit later. The first thing i wanted to do, though was chart our trek on the map. here's our river run, courtesy of Google Earth: As Cudadude said it was 12 miles in length, mild but pleasant flow, and was definitely windy! On every switchback heading South, it was very strong headwinds, and made our pace challenging.

It was a great trip! I'm anxious to do it again, but this time we either gotta stay the night or just go 5 or 7 miles. I'll up load pics as soon as Google Photos starts acting right... it won't let me log in

12 miles in one day is tough. Especially when you are fishing. Looks like a good one night trip.

Some very nice scenery in that part of state. It still amazes me that it's only an hour's drive or so away from the congested DFW flatlands. Here are some of the pics I took throughout the day. Cudadude chillin' Zombie catching
