Yes tons of it. The lake has a complete ring around the tub running out to 12 ft. in most places. The topwater bite is excellent if you know the right spots. Most of our big fish have come as shallow as you can get all day long. Some of the drainages have deeper grass but I have jigged miles of it not to find any larger Bass relating to the hollow underneith. Spro popping frogs Spinnerbaits Spooks 5" Yum Swimbaits Light CR. 20inch leader with 10 worms fished along the deep edges of the grass and off points. All my big fish have come off points and this is how to fish them. Pull up on the side of a point and top water, swimbait or spinner bait all the grass pods and shore. Then drag the Carlo. Rig off the point to deep water. Do not use your trolling motor on the drag if you can help it. Just let the wind take you off the point so not to spook the fish. You will have one good Bass on the adverage per 10 points fished. Lots of smaller Bass can be caught in the back 1/4 of all major creeks on suppending jirkbaits and cranks.

Thanks for the feel good comments guys. Bass fishing and catching in our US. lakes are all about hard work. There is a lot of difference in 30 years of experience on a lake and being a guide on a lake in Texas. I am not down there every week like I was back 10 years ago. Even when I was it was still about hare worked to find the quality fish. That is why I recommend to everyone wanting to be successful on your fishing trip which you do not get to take very often, is to hire a local guide. I do not like spending the same dollars to catch 5 good fish per day as I would in the Mexico lake that I go to down the West Coast. At Lake Oviachic I can catch 100 per day with 50 of those over 5 lbs. per day. If I was makeing a couple of trips per year there is no question about where I would go to get the bites for your money.
