elaborate?! Its these type of responses that turn people away from the TFF....why even say anything if thats all you have to say? This is a place people turn to for advice and tips from those who have experience.

Well guys, think about it for a moment. Do you fish for anything else the same way from one season to the next?

I thank God for each day!

Crago ,I cannot begin to tell you all the things I do differently from day to day even to catch big gar consistently ,I am not trying to be mean it is just quite complex and the fishing during the cold months is drasticly different

I admit I do not get out as much as Kirk, but I have to agree, you can rip them a new one doing one set of things on Monday and strike out on Tuesday if you don't change it up. It doesn't matter what the species is, there are major seasonal patterns that once you learn will work to your advantage. Take blue cats for example, during the summer months the big fish scatter all over the lake and are harder to find. In the winter they gravitate towards deep water structure and are easier to pin down.

My technique doesn't have many variable, either on bottom or in the water column somewhere, but location is everything!

On the red river I would say the best way to catch in the winter would be to snag them . The red gets so cold that they just dont feed much.
