I need help as I've selected Dobyns to be my pole brand next year. Last couple months I have been using the following Dobyns along with my old brand...
Dobyns McAbee Cranking Rod 8' Med Hvy 805 Dobyns Champ Flip Rod 7'6" Heavy 766
here will be some of my common uses I need rods for...
- Drop Shot w/spinning - light cranking 1.5 SB etc, spinners - medium t-rig'ing Fork, Grapevine, etc 12-15 fluro - heavy t-rig Falcon 25 lb fluro - c-rig 1.25+ oz weights (use heavy t-rig rod?) - frog & topwaters (use fliping rod?) - maybe a finesse t-rig baitcaster setup for coangling
I appreciate any help, 2 years ago I only had a MH, H, and spinning. this past year added the crank and flip rods, next year will try to get even more technique specific.

Thats should cover it.

I suggest the following although others may have a better idea. I will stick within the champion line of rods since you already own two and are willing to pay the money for them.
DS - 702 light cranking - I would say 704CB but you also put spinnerbaits so I would go with the 705CB. You can decide between the glass versus graphite models. Between the T-rigs I would do the following 703 or 733 - weightless or light ones 704 or 734 - up to 1 oz 705 or 735 - really heavy and frogs Crig - use the 766 flipping rod
Since you have seven uses I would buy the following: 702 spinning, 733, 734, two 735 and a 705CB glass.

For what you are doing, Sinkey gave you the perfect ideas...only place I differ is for the c-rig I went with the 764C and love it. I just bought a 765FLIP, 764C and 2 704s in both the CW and the Saavy. That 704 is about the best all around rod I have ever used.

You can try call them too. I did that when I was looking for a good carolina rig rod and I'm glad I did, excellent customer service, ask for Richard he's the man.

Man, you're getting some good info Rob, use it. Go where you can hold and feel the rods, then judge these suggestions yourself and make your choices..

Throw yourself a Savvy 734 and 735 in there for backup. I have closed rod lockers and stepped on rods and wished I had a couple extras. You won't find a more sensitive rod than a Dobyns! You can feel a fish eyeballin your bait!

Anything slow I'd def spend the extra cash for the extreme series.
You can feel them breath on your bait!

I usually buy from TW with discount, can you get better deals with local reps?

Doesn't hurt to ask if Angler's Pro Tackle would discount with such a huge purchase.

For what it's worth, here are my reccomendations.
1. Drop Shot w/spinning – We go a little heavier than most as I use 20-30lb. Power Pro and 15-20lb. Seguar leaders to drop shot and we use Champion 704SF’s.
2. Light cranking 1.5 SB etc, spinners – I use a 705CB Glass for this and also topwaters.
3. Medium t-rigging Fork, Grapevine, etc 12-15 fluro - DX744 C SH
4. Heavy t-rig Falcon 25 lb fluro – DX745c or Champion 735c
5. C-rig 1.25+ oz weights - The somewhat new Champion 804C Carolina Rig Special is Incredible. Before the 804C came along I used the DX784ML Signature Jig Rod for c-rigging and it did a great job and is a very versatile rod. I use the DX784ML for big spoons and flipping/pitching now as the 804C is my dedicated c-rig rod now.
6. Frog & topwaters - I use a Savvy SS735c for my frog rod rigged up with 65lb. Power Pro. For topwaters see # 2.
7. Maybe a finesse t-rig baitcaster setup for coangling - A DX703c should be perfect for this.
I also agree with Skeeter Ronnie. "Throw yourself a Savvy 734 and 735 in there for backup. I have closed rod lockers and stepped on rods and wished I had a couple extras. You won't find a more sensitive rod than a Dobyns! You can feel a fish eyeballin your bait!"

Sinkey and Chris G hit it right for some good choices. Dont try there Flippin sticks as C-Rig rod though I used mine for one for a short time its way too much stick for it unless you useing braid all the way lost too many on hookset with that rod but for punchin thick matted grass it is sweet.
