I'm assuming it's someone who fishes anothers spot.I guess I'm wondering what defines someone else's spot.I know right now there's alot of activity in front of No-Name, Williams,Little Mustang and Big Mustang, @ Fork. Anyone that puts in time on that lake knows the pattern, deep trees, roadbeds and humps. If I see Pack or Tom, or Cody, or even Ozzie there,is someone that fishes this a potlicker? Lots of humps and road beds being fished by guides and tournament pre fishers, if someone else fishes these obvious places, are they potlickers? Just askin.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

the worst potlickers are those who pull up next to you and waypoint what you are fishing.

The term gets used loosely. IMHO....a potlicker is somebody that:
A) Fishes a spot that you showed them in confidence and otherwise would have never found for themselves
B) Takes others to said spots trying to look like a hero
C) Watches others catch fish and waypoints the area
Some people have no shame...and even when called on it they act like it isn't a big deal. Fishing cost money and sometimes the information does too! Especially when a guide @ $400 a day puts you on likely spots and fish. Not much is a secret anymore with today's electronics but the bent pole pattern and potlicking isn't the right way to go about finding fish. I network with a few individuals and only once have either of us been in the same spot. We made it work and we both got a check.

Someone who sees someone else catch a fish and jumps the spot. Happens a lot in sand bass fishing. Or a guys sees u pull a bass off a shoreline and jumps infront of u.

+1 And those that act like what you showed them they already knew because they fished there once ten years ago. No location is secret the priviliged info is knowing the fish are there now. So what if you fished an area years ago. if you have been generally fishing elsewhere and were oblivious to the fact the fish moved in and somebody took or showed you in confidence that the fish are there, then you should leave it alone. At least for a while. Bottom line you wouldn't be fishing there now if someone hadn't given you information.
