The hatch behind the seat appears to be the only hatch and access point to the inside of the kayak. I think the front tankwell on this kayak is a bad idea and will be a turnoff to quite a few people since it doesn't allow internal storage.

Depending on how deep the cockpit is there may not have been a tremendous amount of internal storage anyways. However, any internal storage is good storage.

I like the color;)

The battery box and tracks are cool..I kinda like the open deck as well since I prefer to set it up my way....I dont like being ''told'' what to do:D
I agree though a little more internal storage would be nice.

Worth the test paddle.

It really is nice to see new things push the market. It only makes it better for all of us!

No doubt this is a nice boat and I agree about the innovation however I have concerns about the direction it is going. It appears the "kayaks" are getting wider ,heavier and, more costly. Personally, I would like to see lighter, faster kayaks that are stable. Finally, finally, Native has installed a rear wheelie for transport...this should be done on all models many years ago...at lest a replaceable skid.

I agree they do seem to be getting more $$. But faster does not usually equal more stable.

Hermes I agree but at some point it'll come full circle, maybe sooner than you think, and the innovation will be 'look how fast and wind-friendly' this model is... Dont get me wrong... I love my super stable commander, but i often wish i had a low-profile speed demon as well. Of course there are models that are like this now, but I don't really think the industry has really explored the idea that these traits can sometimes also be desirable in a fishing kayak...

They make these fancy new comfy seats but brag about how easy it is to stand in the kayaks. Why make a fancy seat if your going to stand most the time? I dont understand this stand in your kayak craze

I think if your sight fishing then it would be good to be able to do but I can promise you that right now I'm not standing much fishing in 20 feet of water. That's where the nice seat comes in play.

I know what your saying Dave, but to me the high seat position for fishing is amazing! Standing is a nice option but not a need.

I don't really have any desire to stand while fishing traditional equipment. In these situations, I tend to agree with you and think that the "stable enough that you can stand and fish" is overrated as I wonder if there are that many people actually spending a significant portion of their fishing time standing.

Where I believe standing might be advantageous (for me) is when fly fishing. At some point I do want to test drive one of these "super stable" platforms with my fly rod in hand to see how it works. But currently I am more than pleased with my Tarpon 120 and fishing from a seated position.
