I was out on LL today and this is what I saw.  At first glance I was worried it was a drowned swimmer that just surfaced. Once I got closer, I could see fins, then I was concerned about what type of fish was over 6 feet long. When I got a little bit closer, I saw this  The two 40-50 lbs blue cats, were locked together mouth to mouth so I am thinking they are dead. I get out my big net thinking I can scoop up the biggest one. Problem 1: I only able to get half of the fish in the net. Problem 2: The fish wasn't dead, when I touched it with the net, they both let go and swam away. After searching the Internet, come to find out that large catfish fight during spawning season, by locking onto each other to decide who gets the "kitty".

very very cool ...yes male catfish fight for the right ......our males in the old pond have big bite marks on the head all the time .......very nice photos i did once see something strange in a little pond ...... something big under the water moving on the far side .....it was 2 snappers going at it .....i dont know exactly if they were fighting or......i did get a picture before they saw me and quit i do remember seeing some red on ones head like a bite mark
