I've been wanting to go small mouth fishing for a while. Where are some good bodies of water with them close to DFW? I was thinking of hitting up lake Murray. I hear it has a good amount of small mouth, LMB, and walleye. Anybody here fish lake Murray or have any other suggestions?

I know its not real close to DFW but Canyon's got em! And you can always hit the Guad afterwards.

Thanks everbody! Devils would be awesome but too far. I'm looking at some place I can do in a day. I Want to try Murray sometime but Texoma sounds better. The striper in it would be a bonus.
Well Tom I was going to go Sunday to Murray. My wife has family in town so I'm not sure about Saturday night but maybe. I'm free most Saturday-Sunday nights. Whats your schedule?

Murray this time of year you can slay the smallies but the shoolies don't usually have much size so go with lighter tackle. Walleye you have to night fish in 40-60 feet of water along bluffs to catch any keeper fish. If I were going as far as Murray I would more likely go to Sardis early morning and try to catch the big walleye and smallies there up shallow feeding.
