I'm a little surprised someone hasn't commented on my screen name by now, thinking it refers to snot or loogies! Or maybe some of the older guys recognized it. I wanted to let ya'll know where it comes from. A good friend of mine who makes Mr. Blitz spinnerbaits and tackle used to make pork rind quite a few years ago. I still have 2 doz. or so bottles of one of the last prodution runs made back around 1990 or so and it is still good and I use it. The pork trailer was called Choogie Chunks, so I'm a 'Choogie Chunker'.

(Sharpie is for scale.)
The top row are Choogie Chunks. Left to right, white, chartreuse/white (other side is white), and midnight blue.
Bottom row are Bo-Frogs. Left to right, small black/midnight blue (both sides shown), large crawfish and large black/blue.
Several other colors and combinations were made, as well as some different styles, and I have some of them too. Pink, pea green, black, brown, are a few. I wish he still made them as they are by far better than the pork others make now.

And that, as someone used to say, is the rest of the story.grin

Probably not. He's covered up right now trying to get orders filled for the many different lures he produces and he told me recently good quality rind is getting harder to find. Add the fact that EPA regs for the waste brine/chemicals(?) used would make a small sewer treatment facility necessary and it's very time consuming. That being said, if someone wanted to invest the money and time I believe it would pay off.

You're not the only one that wishes he'd start production again. I'm hoarding my supply and reuse it as much as possible, adding a little salt packet to the bottle occassionally to compensate for dilution from used baits adding fresh water to it when returned to bottle. He told me quite a few pros want it back also and have offered up to $20 for a bottle of 3 for any old product he knows of. Tempting, but then I'd be out(!!!!) and have to change my name! grin

I knew exactly what you were referring to. I was a huge fan of the Bo-Frogs! They would outfish the Uncle Josh 2 to 1.

Count me in as another who would buy some more if they ever became available.

I'd be tempted to try to get him to let me manufacture them if I had the money to invest. Tell you what, pray I win the Lottery and I promise to start a pork business when I do. You'll even get a small discount! grin
