I'm looking for spots to go fishing at Lake Tawakoni because I don't want to go to the state park. You don't have to give your spot away and YES I love bank fishing. I just want to be able to go there in the morning like at 5 or 6 A.M. in the morning to go fishing with my family. I just need a place that I will feel safe and my family will feel comfortable. I heard from others that there are places that you can go and park your car close to the lake and I would like to know where this place is. I know majority of you will not give up your "fishing spot" but I might as well try...lol Thanks

If you go to the Texas Bank Fishing Map (in my signature line), spot number 200 is a good spot on Twak for cats.

Before I bought my boat i would fish at Walnut Cove Marina off of their point..south wind 10-20mph with fresh shad all day long. Catch the shad off the small bridge there right before entering the marina.

this was my last catch there...

pull into the marina and up to the gate, pay the lady $2 and pull your truck right up to the point. not sure about the bait, but i'm sure it'll be fine.

Do they have hours like the state park???? or can I go there anytime of the day or night?

well, it's an old couple that owns it. they literally live right there. they get up early, if i get there beore they are out front and the gate is closed i just take my poles thru the gate down to the point and fish. they come get the money later and i'll pull my truck down then. but you have to get there pretty early for that. as for night, you'll have to ask. i know people camp there over night and fish all night.

You have save me my friend. I owe you a personal best and I shall dedicate that to you when I catch it. Am I able to call them ahead of time? I'm planning on going there soon.

Wind point park is also an excellent option on Tawakoni. one of my all time favorite places to fish
