Well we caught lots of bull RED's. No sharks. I time to get my own Yak.
Anyone else fish the surf?

Fished the Galveston surf yesterday near Woody's.

Caught lots of Spanish Macs and my biggest Ladyfish to date. Hooked into something that took 3/4 of my spool in about 8 seconds (I was using trout tackle). Then it decided to stop and run right back towards me. Couldn't keep up and it spit the hook. Pretty sure it was a Jack.

Water was green all the way to the beach. Had a little bit of sandy color to it but still pretty green. All the fish were hanging out past the 3rd bar on the outgoing tide. Everything caught on 1/4 oz. gold spoons.

Soumds good. I was a Gilchrist Sunday to Thrusaday. It was bad ugly water. But the big Red liked it.

It does not get much more exciting than surf fishing imo. Man some of us Houston and surrounding area people should try to plan a weekend of surf fishing?
